Are there in-app purchases, subscriptions or ads?
No. Chairside has no in-app purchases, subscriptions, ads or accounts. Every feature is included.
Which devices does it run on? Do I need an iPhone Duo?
Chairside runs on iPhone and iPad with iOS or iPadOS 17 or later and a rear camera. Try-on, measurements, customer records and PDF summaries work on every iPhone and iPad.
Only on iPhone Duo: open the device and hold it toward the customer, and they see a live mirror with the frame on the outer display while you work on the inner display.
How do I start a fitting?
- On iPhone, tap Fit here on the first card in the Frames tab (on iPhone Duo, or open the device). On iPad the fitting workspace is the main screen.
- Allow camera access when asked, and point the rear camera at the customer.
- Tap a frame in the catalog to put it on, and a colourway to change it.
How do I measure PD?
- Ask the customer to hold a standard bank or ID-size card flat against the forehead just above the eyebrows, and to look at the camera lens.
- Tap Calibrate > ID card. The image freezes; drag the L and R handles onto the card's left and right edges (the arrows move a handle by one pixel).
- Tap Measure. PD, face width and frame-size suggestions appear with a ± tolerance and are saved to the customer.
Or use Current glasses: enter the size printed inside the temple (for example 52□18-140) and mark the outer edges of the lenses.
Measurements are approximate styling aids, not a prescription or dispensing measurement. Verify PD with a pupillometer or PD ruler before ordering lenses.
How do I show the customer their looks?
Tap Capture look while a frame is on. In the customer's record, tap a look to show it full screen, or create a PDF summary and share it.
The camera says it is off.
Allow camera access in Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera > Chairside, then return to the app.
Where are customer records stored? How do I delete them?
Only on the device, excluded from backups and protected while the device is locked. Open the record and tap Delete customer to remove it with its measurements and images. Note that records are not backed up: deleting the app or losing the device removes them. See the privacy policy.
Can I add my own frames?
Version 1.0 comes with a sample catalog of 11 frames. Tell us which catalog features you need at info@databin.net.
